FOLLOW THE PATH, MAY 2019
The installation was sited in Headington Hill Park, Oxford and Le Jardin des Plantes, Grenoble. There are four interactions following yellow footprints on the ground. First the participants are asked to write their date of birth and place of birth on a label which is pasted on the yellow door. Then they follow the footprints until they reach a tree where they are asked to write in a small book something they have learned. The tree in Oxford was an oriental plane tree, known as the tree of knowledge. All the books are hung on the tree for the duration of the exhibition. They are then encouraged to pass through the blue door and write the name of someone important to them and place the name in a small wooden boat. The concept is a reflective and philosophical interaction. Over 400 people took part despite not very good weather.
